Porto Energy Hub discusses with local authorities new financing model to promote energy efficiency

On April 26th, the Porto Energy Hub team hosted a discussion session that brought together several local authorities, including municipal and social housing management entities, to present and discuss an innovative financing model for combined energy efficiency and renewable energy production. Developed in collaboration with energy service companies, the model aims to attract private entities to finance energy efficiency and thermal comfort interventions with high payback periods, by offering counterparts such as renewable production or electric mobility.

The session took place at the Porto Energy Agency and received a great turnout. Essential contributions were collected from representatives of the municipalities and management entities of Valongo, Maia, Matosinhos, Porto, and Vila Nova de Gaia, which will be used to further improve the model.
